Artist statement

The work moves between disciplines, but the questions remain connected.

Michael Neophytou works across fine-line tattoo, charcoal, gold leaf, painting and hand-carved wood. His practice follows recurring figures and natural forms from one material into another, allowing texture, resistance and the body to shape the final image.

Rather than treating each medium as a separate identity, the practice brings them together as one evolving visual language — intimate on skin, atmospheric on canvas and physical in sculpture.
